About Modern Parent Guide

Being a parent is one of my greatest sources of pride. I find countless ways to bring inspiration and joy into family life so that our daily routines are valued for the precious moments they truly are. At the end of the day, home is where the heart is.

Modern Parent Guide began as a way for me to share my honest experience and reviews of my parenthood journey. As we know, we were never thought in school or by our older generations on how to become a parent as part of our vital education. We were just expected to know how to “PARENT” when the baby is being delivered into the world.

About The Author

My name is Mabs. I am a mother of one toddler girl who is 2.5 years old and another one due next month! I am of Asian Heritage, Malaysian Chinese to be exact. Currently, my family is based in Bangkok and has been here since my daughter turned one. I was my girl’s primary caregiver for 2 years before I went back to my full-time job. So, I have had the privilege of taking care of my daughter from A to Z since she was born. She was fully breastfed for 2 years and 1 month, no bottles, just direct latched.

Modern Parent Guide Goal

As times have changed, and for you new parents, getting unsolicited advice from third parties, be it from family, close friends, strangers or even worse, strangers who DO NOT have PARENTING experience, probably isn’t the best help for you (I totally feel you and have been there before). With hormones flying all over the place, whether it is you who is pregnant or your partner that is pregnant, or you already are a parent but a stressed one, I would like to lend a helping hand with whatever experience that I have, that I thought I wish I knew earlier and would have helped me saved money or time or stress.

I genuinely believe that my parenting tips and tricks are relevant to other moms and dads. I am so grateful to have this platform to share my journey and I thank you for joining me on this magical ride.
